This is why I think some of you guys only see the side of these ideologies you wish to see. Of course it's natural to want to support your people and feel closest to them.
But if we look at history, the tendency can become religious and malignant. It becomes an excuse to act with barbarity towards others under the guise of being superior and civilized. Japanese atrocities in WW2, Nazis put people into slave labor camps and did cruel experimentation on them, Belgium in the Congo and Jews in Palestine (and the USA) treating people with contempt and horrific abuse.
Yes, you will not be rid of it until K selection is the meta.
Too much people will always result in violence.
