someone smuggled Babylonian artefacts and dumped them in the cave where Fr. Crespi found them.
Fr. Crespi smuggled them and made it all up as a hoax.
Ecuadorian Indians really made those objects depicting some kind of a demon/deity who was also known to the Babylonians.
I'd bet on 1 or 2.
Consider it looks like a exact copy and you can see the vessel of life on the edge, it appears to be something from mesopatamia.
Yes, good point. Even if it were a depiction of the same deity, Ecuadorians would definitely use their own style making it and not copy the style of another culture they have zero knowledge of.
