na, tech companies hired too many people as a way to reward woke people (((who is behind this is a unknown))), now they are clearing house because its hurting the bottom line more than they expected
while all the mass immigration is bad for people its good for businesses, bad for workers but good for businesses, if you run a window repair company or a fast food restaurant its great, if you sell slop to idiots its great, if you can profit from unskilled workers its great, its just not good for social cohesion of a community or the long term political health of a country
things will get bad in like 20-30 years but for now there is a lot of profit to be made
the kind of collapse you are likely imagaining is going to take a carrington event, total nucular war(a limited exchange is pretty much nothing), meteor impact, a real deadly virus(for instance the americas had a 90% die off after the collumbian exchange), or major volcano(like the great bottle neck)
no amount of political issues is going to cause a civilisation to collapse, politics is just theater for the plebs after all, if all trade stopped today there would be minor chaos as the weak die off but it would quickly resolve as the people who arnt incompetent find ways to feed them selves
i mean look at china, you can feed a hell of a lot of people if you are willing to expand your definition of food, for instance, I would start farming snails, lots of free food, not something i would go out of my way to eat now but if food ever became an issue the foods i would not normally eat would become an option
