I would argue that doing it routinely makes people better at finding and closing gaps.
And you argue that this kid just found that one perfect place where > 99% of people would have assumed is completely secure because it's just too obvious. That rooftop should have been impossible by an stretch of the imagination.
You can't be real! I would 100% expect to be shot doing that, and not one single solitary person would have it in their mind that someone would do that, and it certainly was not the reason he was able to do it. No one responsible has come forward to say that any of that had any influence on their actions whatsoever.

Anyway, the main point I was trying to make is that you are one of the chorus carrying water for them to make what happened sound reasonable. You literally said they just don't shoot people climbing onto vantage points and that's why it happened.
