The helicopter would begin with the same angular velocity as the point on the ground that it launched from. It will not just go straight up, it will keep going in the direction of rotation. The force of gravity would pull it along while it maintained its height from the ground. I don't know how the math would work out with a change in height.

It will not just go straight up, it will keep going in the direction of rotation

The rotation is 465.10 metres per second (1,674.4 km/h).

You really think the pilot never feels that his tiny helicopter is going over 1000km/h???

If your theory is true, how can a helicopter sustain that (1,674.4 km/h) when he turns?

Then it would have to keep correcting itself to stay in the same spot. It's an interesting idea to try.

Another one that makes me think is the fact that all pilots say they don't notice any curvature at 35,000 feet. Pilots were asked at 50,000 feet up and say it is perfectly straight across or flat.

Just some food for thought. I find the subject interesting.

Only if it was in a vacuum. The air column moves in rotation with the planet as well

Is it though? The wind blows in all directions so isn't it just the planet spinning?

That's my take..one thing for sure is something doesn't add up. Nasa is full of shit about everything. There are no pictures of the planet from space except for images and recreations.

I think it's way bigger than we've been sold and land beyond the ice that's all for them.
