They have bots that scan new uploads for music and flag shit that might be copyrighted, sometimes to the point of blocking it. This also prevents ads from playing on your video (for those who do that kind of thing). I think DrLeaks2's explanation holds water, and might explain why it took a while to be public.
I think YouTube would just censor it outright if there was anything damning to the unscripted, rather quiet narrative that's currently out there.
