In the words of Rage Against the Machine: "The front line is everywhere, there be no shelter here." They're coming for us all eventually, so we may as well just stand and fight.
(The lyrics still apply, even though they shamefully ended up Raging On Behalf of the Machine.)
I take as my example the experience of Native Americans. I suppose one could say they live "in peaceful harmony, with no war, just with disruptions in global economic activity". Not really how I would describe it, though.
