Yes, it returns the force that was applied to it as it was elevated.
It drops back down because it is denser than the medium surrounding it and cannot be supported in the air.
Just like objects in water sink or float based on their density.
Pure science, logic, and common sense. No idiotic stupidity of bending space-time needed.
Stop trying to warp your mind to defend a debunked religion.
Just stick with the scientific method which when used lets us know the earth is a level and stationary plane.
