This plane had to be going really slow, light poles are held down with bolts at the bottom. It's a shear point to prevent it from acting like hitting a tree. Its just bent so it was going really slow.
So if it was going faster it would be like a knife and beat the pole?
It would shear off from the look of it, if your comparing a I beam to a light pole you'd better not quit your day job.
