Nobody is prepared. Prepping will only delay the inevitable. Farm life didn't really change much in the depression because the farmers were already barely scraping by and nothing really changed. We can prep all we want, but nature bats last. Only time will tell
You can have an underground bunker and a machine gun nest but if you don't know how to maintain or operate equipment you are fucked. I think being mentally prepared will be very advantageous.
The other issue with a bunker is if you enter too early it becomes your prison and if you're too late, sorry Charlie. Mentally prepared, a knowledge of what to forage and how to go undetected will be valuable assets. I live in the Denver area and many people say they're going to the mountains because they know how to hunt. They'll be dead before long because there's a lot more to it.
It's going to sound cold but dumb people can get you killed. You need to be able to identify who's dead weight and who isn't
