LOL! He foresaw in 1949 the world we live in today, motherfucker was prescient.
His wife was a British Government censor and he worked in the propaganda department. He was describing his world, not ours.
The British were using Alan Turing's machine, a fundamental building block of modern computing, to break the enigma code 6 years prior to the book being written by Orwell. The world he describes is the futuristic technodystopian hellscape we currently enjoy.
