USSR had decades. China had decades. They also have a much bigger population and much less effective method of tracking dissidents. Your mortality in those places as a target of persecution are approximately 40% and not 99% unlike this.
Also remember all of the genocides in the 20th century are preparations for the big day. They already owned and clamped down the internet, they have everyone's browsing history and chat logs. So yeah if they start it worldwide and you did not make all the correct preparations before then, you're dead. 100% (and if you do survive you will still be struggling for survival in the next millennia. Don't say that I didn't warn you).
Agreed. But mass killing has never been an issue for any totalitarian regime. Once they're in power nothing is stopping them. It's not a matter of technology or logistics - you just need bullets. That's why the whole Holocaust narrative makes zero sense.
It's the reverse. Most of the time the killers use weapons like knives, machetes, concentration camps, cancelling people to the point of suicide or starving them to death. Bullets are scarce and in the Khmer Rouge and Rwanda you have to pay them to kill you instantly with bullets (because it's less painful).
Finding the people is the problem. They cannot catch you if you are in the middle of nowhere with all communications cut off and an emptied house. But they can if you stay in the mountains, a hiker recognized who you are and you just happened to post something with the word "fag" when you are 15.
And if you can just starve people to death you won't even need to find people. It's very effective, the Vatican, Soviets and Nazis do this (and if you ask a Neo Nazi they'll say that the Nazis had no gas chambers but they'll openly admit that they starved people to death).
Those are rookie numbers compared to the USSR and China. But at least the weren't Christian nationalists, am I right?
Resources matter.
