The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. The Lord is not slow to fulfil His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient towards you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should reach repentance. We repent or we will perish.
“Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?” Or do you presume on the riches of His kindness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
Among churches and Christian groups, certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation—ungodly people who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and "Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity."
just saw this now as you didn't respond to the original thread. I'm Jacobin by the way. The entire bible is a fanfic - a blueprint for global dominion over the goyim. But, if I play along with the internal logic of the Bible for a moment then Jesus himself says otherwise.
Jesus is supposed to come and fulfil the Old Testament prophecies and Laws. He had not come to abolish them but fulfil them. Also, he took a handful of Old Testament laws and made them even more stringent and foreboding, widening the net to catch his followers in sin and encouraging them to dismember themselves rather than fall foul of his commandments. Thus:
"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell."
"It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery."
The laws of old that he changed was to convince his deceived followers to render themselves meek and feeble and to bend over to their persecutors - his people, the Jews. Thus:
"Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain."
"Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"
The Christian Bible doesn't include the Old Testament for nothing you know. The Old Testament is what foretells Jesus coming and gives you the blueprint of the things he must fulfil. If you think the OT has nothing to do with Jesus or his teachings then I would be assuming you haven't truly read the bible.
The words of Jesus are few. You would be able to read ALL of them multiple times in a day. If you think the OT has nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus you simply aren't familiar with the teachings of Jesus.
