The ship was heading towards the pylon before it lost power. The US transportation infrastructure is cut in half. Hazardous cargo cannot travel south, as that bridge was only one of two that allow hazardous cargo, i.e. Natural Gas, Oil and Nitrates. The captain is Ukrainian and the other 22 crew members are from India, and they did NOT have a Harbor Pilot on board piloting that ship. Somehow. There's your conspiracy.
How does a port with a hazardous cargo focus not have a mandatory harbor pilots and tugboats being used?
THAT is the question.
