Why? How would you know any distance such as this? You google it. So. Guess what....you can't google how far it is on a Gleason map. Expecting I could tell you exactly this distance is assinine and as you were able to explain why you wanted to know, it just exposes that you want to make me feel wrong even though you haven't earned the win.
Eh, whatever. I've tried for years to wake people up, they won't take it seriously
I have, but I do forget who I talk to. I don't have my own website to point you, but there is an entire internet out there. Not sure if hearing from me, without visual aids, are gonna help you. This is because this topic has a mind field of programming, and self defence mechanism are triggered as you seriously consider the possibility of flat earth. So with that, you have to also not expect you can read through the sentences below with wanting to reply before reading. It's a knee jerk reaction when you read things Im saying. You have to study on your own and really learn. Then, decide.
The sun is an object that flies overhead. We can use basic geometric math and equilateral triangles to calculate the suns distance. About 4k miles up. And the size of the sun can also be estimated about 32 miles across, same size as moon.
So, the object, like any object, follows the laws optics, as it comes closer, you witness the droplet effect, the sun is brighter, comes from low on the horizon, as it comes closer to get higher on your view until it's overhead.
Then, it's still 4k miles up. So it looks the same size as it did when you saw it rising and when it's setting. But the sun elevation isn't changing significantly in a days' time.
And like any object, as it gets father away, it appears lower in your horizon. You following? Linear perspective. It's a really simple concept. You are still thinking the sun is huge and in space, so you can't wrap your head around this, which is why I suggest watching videos, you mind needs visual aid to understand.
Take flat earth seriously and go figure out once and for why so many people are convinced like I am. It's not because we talk to eachother or follow the same flat earth cult. That's all programming to keep the topic muddy.

I'm not talking about distance.
I'm talking about why, on a flat earth, the sun appears to sink below the horizon.
Are you not following along?
How come you have addressed how I explained it!
You haven't explained it
