That's normalcy bias speaking right there. There's variables we can't see at work I choose to believe he will not be murdered in vain as counterintuitive as that sounds
Good for you, faith is important. I'm too old and jaded for that. I call it as I see it.
TIme will tell.
BTW, normalcy bias is actually an error of probabilistic judgment based on false assumption of base rate. It is not mere "I believe this, because this is how yesterday was" <- that is a simpleton explanation for people who don't understand the mathematical basis of that fallacy (source: me, I researched and taught biases for several years).
I found my brother! I really thought something would have happened between 16 and 20, but now feel the same as you. Maybe I should have never stumbled across Phil Schneider and Bill Cooper 27 years ago.
You call yourself jaded I see a pessimistic person using past events in an attempt to dictate future outcomes. The normalcy bias stems from the sliver of time you've been alive.
"Pronoia is the belief that the world is manipulating circumstances for one's benefit. It is the opposite of paranoia, which is the belief that "the world" is out to get you. According to sociologist Fred Goldner, pronoia is the delusion that others think well of one, which is the unreasoning belief that one's superiors think they are indispensable, that their colleagues adore them, and that they are doing brilliantly in their work. According to the new Darwinism, only the pronoid survive and flourish. Expecting things to turn out well plays an important role in leadership and success." Source: worldwidewords.org
