I disagree. with chat gpt becoming kind of useless this year, access via the API is really the only way to go. These are fractions of a cent per API call , usually, but it really adds up and is a great service.
most or nearly all API services and apps and great new things that are Appearing are definately charged for. yes, many have a freemium model.
for some larger bot AI installations, the charges are many thousands of dollars a month.
imho, someone with decision making power f'd up and just pushed the woke bullshit too far. like the VP behind the Bud Light fiasco last year.
