Yes, sort of. Muslims incorporated previous pagan beliefs of Arabia, which was already a mix of ancient Egyptian beliefs, Sumerian, etc.. along with some Judaism and Christianity.
It's not really that important what's inside that cube. Islam has a mix of moon worship as well (Ancient religions around that area also worshiped the moon)
The Kaaba existed long before Islam and was also a spot of pilgrimage. Back then, there were also many Kaaba like structures around Arabia.
ARABIA (Hebrew arabha) - "desert" aka DESERT - "to leave, abandon" aka DE (undo) SERERE (join together)...all beliefs tempt one to join together with another.
Now add ISLAM (surrender)...did Arabia surrender to suggested beliefs?
