Fun Fact 1: You almost always inherit your mitochondria from your mother; unlike your DNA which you get from both parents.
Fun Fact 2: "midi-chlorian" word parts break down to "middle day (shine) light green, greenish yellow (akin to yellow, gold, gleam); something to that effect. So midi-chlorians are these little things that are within us that "shine"; thus powering the Force.
