Or better quetion yourself, why exactly you feel obliged to do something if some authority asks you to do it. And why instead of not giving any fuck to such demands, you somehow begin to feel yourself uncomfortable.

Those who accounted as authorities around you is not some divine given thing. You don't have to respect any authority if you don't have a solid reason for that. You choose your authorites, not they choose you. It is only your decision - to respect authority (say, if it is your dad or God) or not give a single fuck to it.
