He's a secular Jew, and has that baggage, but he's and his wife in the Dark Horse podcast have been against the vax from day one. His "red pilling" goes back to getting swarmed by a leftist mob at some college somewhere back before the great awokening.
Interesting. I don't know what to think about these kinds of things, these people who seem to be promoting what we consider to be the right ideas, but who are clearly some kind of "limited hang out" (as others mentioned in here).
I don't think he's controlled opposition, because of his coming to terms with things, stemming from this incident, and how it mangled him financially.

He's still a "classic liberal" though, as if things were stuck back in the 1990s. One of the Intellectual Dork Web guys, though that little click broke up like a boy band due to Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Interesting, take a look at that video when I get back, but I'm guessing it's some kind of cancellation type thing that fucked him over. BTW I miss read your quotation as "classical liberal", which is something entirely different, but now that makes perfect sense, I've seen a number of old school "social liberal" types that have gone through this Trump derangement syndrome and then in the past couple years have slowly started to become red pilled when it's too little too late.
Your reading is correct. He's an old schoolish free speech hippie liberal, though he's only in his 50s. I admit that I have listened to his podcast a few times.
Don't bother to watch the video, unless you want to note how extremely charitable and patient he is. More than I would ever be.
Here's a decent summary. It all got kicked off when he said a day of protest where non-whites weren't allowed on campus was wrong.
