When most individuals are running systems remotely controlled from Microsoft or Google HQ, the mechanism for a trivial worldwide ransomware/data-loss false flag is built in.
Complete "cyber pandemic" with no zero-days needed, right down to the residential dwelling.
I hope they try it. People will wake up from the internet as if it were all a bad dream. We'll show Google how little they are actually needed.

Whole generations of stupid kids will be completely lost and unable to fend for themselves. I'm convinced they only ever gave access to tech while planning on removing it, just to make people weaker. Noone knows anything these days, they just know how to find it.
I agree with you. Some people will be able to quickly adapt but it feels like the vast majority won't know what to do
