RELIGION (Latin religio; to bind anew) implies ones repression of cultivation (growth) through submission to another.

Using "free" will of choice to consent to suggested "the-ism" binds ones choice to the choices of another.

to advance agendas

Agenda (action) advances reactions (life) from inception towards death...following suggested agendas tempts one to ignore that.
