I looked into this because Mayor Adams of NY was made a 33 degree Mason recently at his home Gracie Mansion, and that mansion is in Carl Schurz Park.
BTW, the guy who built the mansion was a Mason (Ezra Weeks), and it has checkerboard carpets (of course).
Ezra Weeks and his brother Levi Weeks are another crazy rabbithole...Levi Weeks probably killed his girlfriend, and it was a sensationalized trial and the first one with a recorded transcript...
