I also wanted to bring up tides. I was gonna make a thread, but I dont really care enough to.

Also, I never did go back and check that thread. That formula was a simple equation to get the force needed to create a perfect orbit around the object. Of course this is only a n^2 equation, and in real life theres more than just 2 objects, but its basically exactly the same as nasa uses to get their objects in orbit.

:shrugs: if its fake, the math is pretty convincing. Like I said a while ago, even basic math is capable of recreating this movement.

Anyway tides. How do flat earthers explain tides? I couldnt really get an answer. Found a guy on quora talking about the two tides event. Which is only possible if the earth moves around the sun and the moon moves around us.

Because the Earth rotates through two tidal “bulges” every lunar day, coastal areas experience two high and two low tides every 24 hours and 50 minutes. High tides occur 12 hours and 25 minutes apart.

I also wanted to ask about pendulums. Looool.

I used to walk by this thing at shawnee at all hours of the night, some of my fondest memories there for some reason are walking across the campus at 3am with fog from the ohio river so thick you could barely see your hands in front of your body.

And yes I know that they dont work when the power is out. They arent breaking the laws of physics.

Interesting read if youve never seen one of these before.

https://www.si.edu/spotlight/foucault-pendulum

Any pendulum consists of a cable or wire or string and a bob. For a pendulum to easily demonstrate the Foucault effect, it should have as long a cable as possible (this one is 52 feet) and a heavy symmetrical bob (this one is hollow brass, weighing about 240 pounds). Like all pendulums this one loses a bit of energy with each swing due to friction from air currents and vibrations in the cable and other factors. Thus, left to itself the pendulum would swing in shorter and shorter arcs until after a few hours it will decrease almost to zero. To keep the Foucault Pendulum going, one must replace the energy lost with each swing. This can be done by giving the pendulum a little "kick" with each swing.

To do this, two iron collars are attached to the cable near the top. There is a doughnut-shaped electromagnet built into the ceiling, and the iron collar swings back and forth inside the hole of the doughnut. When the pendulum cable reaches a particular point in its swing, it is detected by an electronic device and the magnet is turned on at just the right time to give the collar (and thus the cable and the bob) a little "kick" in the exact direction of its natural swing. This restores the energy lost during the swing and keeps the pendulum from stopping. It has no effect on the direction of the swing, and thus does not interfere with the demonstration that the earth is rotating.

Ill assume the appalachian engineers who built it wouldnt fake it, but admittedly ive never built one myself.

The only way these things could work is if the moon and sun do exert gravity on us. And most flat earthers are stumped when they have to admit that yeah, these objects arent just points of light, but exert a force too.

Like I said, it could even be that earth is flat, but time and space give it the appearance of being round, like they claim about our universe.

But considering ive seen things like mars and saturn through a telescope, I dont know what to tell you guys. Lights dont have craters.
