Russia is nowhere near being defeated. Protectionist China bides its time.
Currently when the news has shifted into blaming Russia it means Ukraine isn't winning. The counter offensive hasn't done much outside of gained an inch or two, if that. Because it hasn't, Zelenskyy is screaming for funding and how Russia is imploding, as all the press starts writing speculation about Wagner, and Russian losses.
Half of it diverts away from failures like France or other Western domestic issues. Where there's real anger at most Governments, a perfect storm imploding. Into, you tell me? But there's no magic wand.
There is only the current timeline. If you wanted to talk psychobabble, watching too much Disney or something. There is one timeline. A continuum. It always proceeds linear. Paradoxes do occur, events, singularities, repetition, but the timeline still remains constant. There are possibly a million quantum copies of you, but there's still only one outcome, fate. Copies, reflections, paths, choices. But time moves steadily forward progressing linear, aging, moving forward, despite whatever alternatives or choices you've imagined.
No Putin isn't dead yet in our timeline. It probably wouldn't change much anyway. Like this topic. China taking over Russia. Yea no. They work together as Allies, but neither have complete control over the other. It's not the way sovereignty works.
Hahaha psychobabble.

I doubt China is any better, because it isn't.
Alternative timeline? Uhm NO. No such thing.
