i love how people use the van allen belt as men never went to the moon.. but if you look at the logs.. the total travel time through the belts was less than 5-10 seconds... people forget how fast the apollo spacecraft moved and the escape velocity of earth...
when cassini space craft passed through saturns rings with wasnt even a second... although the rings are something like 200,000 km across.. its only 10 meters thick...
