So this song is, first of all, a classic and one of the coolest songs ever written, but also it mentions some conspiratorial topics including assassination, and as descriptive as Oldham is being here, perhaps a particular assassination? I'm not sure.
It's also a fun song, so don't expect him to point fingers at the Jewsies or talk about UFOs or something.
He makes one point that I take to heart and that is the last line.
"The righteous path is straight as an arrow."
I know the grammar is incorrect, but Oldham is well read to say the least, so there must be some reason he wrote it like that.
Getting past that....
This is true. No matter how righteous you think you are, or ACTUALLY are, I think we all forget this.
Personally, a lot of "I wonder what I should do in this horrible situation?" is just procrastinating because you know what you should do, you're just trying to talk yourself into the unpleasant option, but usually the best...but is it the most righteous?
I guess it all depends on who writes about it.
We all know what we should do.
Keep it in mind.
Hope you are all well, except noyoushutup/eisenhorn
I hope you are getting evicted.
