I'm finding some trouble with this one. I don't think it's in the interest of either Ukraine or Russia for the dam to be destroyed. Even if shelling the dam was considered last year, now it makes little sense considering the so-called Spring counter-offensive.
On the other hand, if Russia wanted to blow up the dam, they could have done it months ago. There is a 900 miles long defensive line for them to worry about. Blowing up the dam would only shorten that by max 30 miles.
Could it be a horrible accident, or an act of sabotage instead?
