Been taking a break from the boards, but it was pretty hard to hold my tongue after seeing this thread pinned to the top of /r/conspiracy.
FTR, I basically ran the sub for ~5 years. I don't care that I'm not mentioned. But this drivel from AssuredlyaThrowaway is just too much. He completely inverted the truth. Here's how he described my removal by Reddit inc:
this man stepped up as our top mod after two failed partisan coups
So, he leaves me out intentionally, and accuses me of pulling a "partisan coup" when the Reddit admins literally conspired with the US Congress to have me removed for "doing Jan 6" for which they never bothered to provide a shred of evidence.
It was the biggest conspiracy in the history of the sub, and it's being completely rewritten...by the mods themselves. Absolutely unreal.
Assuredly, you should be utterly ashamed of yourself. How incredibly revolting and embarrassing for the lot of them.
Thank you to all of you here who keep producing content and who keep this place afloat with great material. As reddit implodes, we should expect our numbers to be reinforced.
Trump's indictment, staged alien invasion, COVID completely unraveling, things are going to get spicy!
I was always a casual viewer of /r/conspiracy and it got so bad after Jan 6th I had to investigate wtf happened and it does seem that after axolotl got booted it was taken over.
Everyday there's many posts that are interesting and worthy of discussion. You then go to the comments and it's nothing but people shitting on OP and the people who post on the sub.
Seeing people say "this sub is filled with idiots" in a few popular threads here and then, especially ones that hit /r/all isn't too surprising. When every thread that has over 100 comments is mostly just shitting on the posters, the invasion seems quite obvious. Oh, also that threads at the top will have 500-1000 comments but threads like 5th on the page will be below 100.
The sub runs like a pen to get all the right wingers in so that the toxic commie subs can come in and demoralize whatever non-conformist thinkers are left on that site.
Man I miss old reddit. Once Trump hit the scene that place went into a black hole of politics, the whole fucking site.
For me it's just the out of control censorship. For example I had a comment on /r/conspiracy recently just sit at zero which I thought was unusual, so i went to reveddit.com and checked and sure enough it was either removed automatically by a bot, or by an admin. No notice of removal, it was just gone. To me it looks like the comment is still there, but if you log out the comment has basically been shadow banned.
The comment was just critical of the whole Russia-gate fiasco which was an absurd farce. In the end Mueller himself basically debunked it. The comment didn't break any rules, either on the sub or site wise. I can only conclude they are literally running bots to automatically shadow ban comments critical of whatever narrative is being protected. And this sums up a large part of my reddit experience now, just insane censorship. For cat videos and other stupid shit it's fine, but anything even related to politics is just a dumpster fire.
Ya that's why I ditched my main account and got a new burner. I was one of the top posters on the website it turns out so I'm pretty sure I had people watching and shadowbanning me all the time.
I'd throw out comments which I knew would get a reaction and they'd just sit on 1 karma and open in a private tab, boom shadowbanned. Pretty sure I was shadowbanned from WSB for like a month. I really don't get that type of censorship. Wouldn't they want me to change my opinion?
I could have done that when I got a new phone. I decided I was better off without Reddit. But, I encourage you to remind everyone that getting a new phone is the time to create a new account. Just never login to anything else on it, or you'll be digitally linked.
I stopped going to Reddit unless I wanted to read drama. But, there was even politics in other people's personal drama.
