The Vatican literally worships Satan. When Christianity spread like wildfire through the Roman empire their only play was to try and incorporate Roman paganism and authority into this new following of the Messiah.
They actually destroy Roman paganism and authority to make way for the legitimization of the worship of the Semitic Blood God.
Roman paganism was predated by earlier examples.
Symbolic Ideation is behind (above, as 'higher concept') all material example.
In other words, Venus and Mars meant 'things'....actually ideas behind things.....not so much meant to be 'worshipped' as anthropromorphic beings and turned into a controlling religion.
Yet this is exactly what happens in both larger and smaller cycles.
Roman paganism was considered commercial and cheap by the OG Greeks.
