For sure. But it's understandable how a young kid would be a bit freaked out. I really wouldn't want that thing hanging out in my bureau.
It pisses me off that we always hear these breathtaking eyewitness accounts, but never a shred of hard evidence. And this isn't the first account where someone said "I had the proof in my hands but I lost/destroyed it." Almost like the Holohoax.
