My GF is a mental health nurse in a medium secure unit, dealing with self charmers and women who killed during psychotic episodes.
Many will spend the rest of their lives there, and not because of their original conviction.
It is no fun for staff or patients and some days the whole endeavor seems like torture not healthcare.
Torture for sure.
