Out of the two Arab nations that we know we’re providing “logistical financial and military support for isil” (Saudi Arabia and Qatar), one of the them (Saudi Arabia) is now welcoming Assad back into the fold. That’s the sound of the CIA failing. (www.aljazeera.com)

Arab League brings Syria back into its fold after 12 years
Ties with Damascus are being normalised, as the bloc hopes for an ‘Arab-led political path’ to solve the Syrian crisis.

"They" knew it's been headed this way for a long time, and that's why the motive force behind it and various other changes. MbS, had to become one of the Worst Persons in the World(tm). Not that it needed to be proven to us. It's just something that, somehow, "everybody knows".

(And if anyone is going to bring up that lame-ass phony Khashoggi stunt, is the only thing makes it Not Okay the fact that it wasn't done via drone with a US flag painted on the side? Plenty of those incidents to complain about.)

I think mbs was set up by a holdover from the previous Saudi administration.

MBS could have killed the guy in 1000 ways and I’m supposed to believe he chose a place where the entrances and exits are covered by cameras?

and in Turkey no less? A country looking for leverage over him?

It was a set up. And I’m always a bit surprised people don’t question the whole bonesaw MBS thing.

I'm personally working under the conclusion that the whole thing was fake and ghey and the guy isn't even dead. I'm always surprised to find they've never memory-holed this article:

Khashoggi's 'body double' is pictured leaving Saudi consulate wearing fake beard, murdered journalist's clothes and glasses hours after Saudi intelligence officers butchered him (Daily Mail 10/22/2018)

Before I even knew that surveillance footage existed, I thought he was still alive. A little after Khashoggi was "murdered", some high-profile Christian pastor who had been arrested (in Turkey, IIRC) was released. Someone spotted Khashoggi as--get this--one of the photographers visible as the pastor was driven away.

The other fun but now forgotten aspect was this:

Im dyin over here...the world is going full tilt 4chan conspiracy theorist...Jamal Khashoggi's fiance Hatice Cengiz is actually a dude...a reporter dude. (10/12/2018)

Seriously, the whole affair has to be filed under, "You just can't make this shit up!"

Could be. But I lean towards the former theory.

But this is still plausible.
