Man, I'd think some reptiles live in hiding.
If anything as a society the amount of sugar pumped into us is a form of magic itself - enforcing fight or flight lizard mentality.
The lizard is all of us unless you've consumed psilocybin mushrooms and enter default network mode, at which point entities recognize an unclothed brain and say hello telepathically
