In October 2016, about a third of the Internet was taken offline for almost an entire night as Wikileaks was captured and co-opted. Its original members spoke to that effect, but most of their communications were erased.
The MD5 hash on one of their most important dead man’s switch files (which was available for download but the unzipping key had not been released yet) was changed, meaning that the new folder had different contents and clearly the original key wouldn’t ever be released now.
I didn't track it, but around that time several of the Wikileaks principals "died suddenly". Also, Oct 2016 was when Pam Anderson visited Assange. He "got sick" and a number of people reported seeing him on live webcam dragged out of the embassy in the middle of the night.
I've followed JA's "appearances" since then and they've all been phony. He's either in some black site or--more likely--dead. That's why those RSA journalists couldn't get in to see him recently: no one to see.
I've come to realize that only a handful are able to pick up on such things, probably because only a handful are looking, and probably because only a handful are able to crawl out of the mental trap where they feel secure seeing the lies that everyone else believes but never imagine that they themselves could be fooled.

I don’t think anyone saw him get dragged out of the embassy.
Assange reported seeing someone in a car with what looked like a grab team and he heard someone try to scale the wall.
But he was around after that and made appearances.
