It's possible to build the hardware on your own and just buy their operating system.

The Embassy One is about $500 and the Embassy Pro is $1800 with latest cutting age tech

The Embassy One runs on a Raspberry Pi. The Embassy Pro is custom build circuit board.

I think you can just buy the OS alone and save money.
