Without seeing how many there were in a typical year previous, its impossible to say if this is unusual. I think one anon did an analysis and found either 2 or 3x more than previous years but I can't remember exactly what the number was, nor did I verify their claim. Assuming there has been that much of an increase, it seems very unlikely its just "infrastructure degradation" since that would show a steady increase over time, not a sudden spike. One plausible explanation is that people weren't doing their jobs to maintain infrastructure during the pandemic lockdowns and various disruptions? Otherwise it does seem like its possibly some 5th gen warfare from bad actors, esp given the MSM's relative silence on it.
