I feel like outside of New Zealand most people aren't aware that we have this super fucked up "environmental" strategy. 1080 Poison Drops.
Our rulers/greenazis, despite public opinion or obvious logic, have decided that the way to save our endangered species is to rain down (from a helicopter) tons and tons of one of the most lethal and torturous poisons we can find, in every single forest in the country. We even know it kills the animals it is meant to protect.
Watch this video for a well researched and on the ground report on the subject.

Why do I say coming to you? Because whenever our "conservationists" partner with other countries they "share techniques" and are rolling this out as an excellent solution for small island nations.
But OP we live in big boy country, not a little island. This is the "small island" they are doing it to: https://www.thetruesize.com/#?borders=1~!MTM5NDAzOTQ.MTI0NDA3MDUODAwNDkyMg(NTQ0MDcxMw~!NZMTE1MDIxOTE.MjE2MjE2OTA)Mw or for euros https://www.thetruesize.com/#?borders=1~!MTUyMTg4Njc.MTI2NjAyNDYMjA5NDEzMjM(MTU4MTI5MDU~!NZMTYzNzA3NjA.MTcyNDUwNzU)Mw
They also keep saying that if they can show success with this technique, then it can be green lit for other places.
Add to all this:
- It is super-duper lethal to dogs. (and people end up watching their dogs writhe in pain for 24hrs till they die)
- They sometimes miss and have it land on farms.
- It gets in the water supply.
- People have gotten sick from tainted meat, but "that's just a conspiracy".
- It is banned everywhere but NZ, parts of Australia and the USA (the USA currently actually uses it responsibly as a collar for sheep that kills coyotes that bite their necks)
- Oh, and it's super safe, but any time there's a whiff that a protestor has put some somewhere they shouldn't, it's treated as terrorism.
Any questions?
That's my suspicion
It'd be the easiest way to go about clearing out the hilly/mountainy pacific northwest and places like the Bitteroots.
