This "name change" business is a very common feature of what I have come to call "Simulants". They aren't just the ordinary people we all know, nor are they completely fabricated Intelligence legends. Rather, they are combinations of authentic, partially authentic, and completely false elements.
Bill Clinton is a prime example. You may not have heard, but that's not his name. They'll admit he was born William Jefferson Blythe III. They first tell us:
Clinton has described his stepfather as a gambler and an alcoholic who regularly abused his mother and half-brother, Roger Clinton Jr. He threatened his stepfather with violence multiple times to protect them.
Then they say he took his stepfather's name at the age of 16.:Sound plausible? Not in the least. The person they tell us is Bill's biological father is completely fake, of course.
Who is his real father? There's a possibility it was this military intelligence officer:

COLONEL WILLIAM JACKSON BLYTHE, SR. OBIT
Who knows. though? They may have just poured Bill out of a vat and handed him to Col. Blythe.
some very good points, thanks for sharing
