It's hard for me to believe that with all that bloodthirst that a gunman would go shoot a bunch of kids in a school

Exactly!

It's counterintuitive.

Try convincing yourself shooting up a school is a good idea next time you get angry and see how quickly that pops out of your mind as a stupid way to handle the problem.
