Do you keep God's commandments and obey His word? Have you repented of your sins? Do you try to walk even as He walked? If not, ask yourself: why?
“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” (1 John 2:3-6)
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)
“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” (Revelation 14:9-12)
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.” (1 John 5:3)
“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” (John 14:21)
“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.” (John 15:10)
“Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.” (1 Corinthians 7:19)
“And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.” (1 John 3:22-24)
“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Revelation 12:17)
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14)
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” (Psalms 111:10)
“Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.” (Psalms 112:1-3)
More notable scripture which speaks about this: Matthew 5:17-48, Matthew 7:22-27, Hebrews 6:4-6, Hebrews 10:26-31, Romans 2:5-13, Romans 13:8-10, James 1:21-27, Psalms 1:1-6, Psalms 103:8-18.
Even the most simplest Commandments, like do not eat the forbidden fruit, we are not able to follow. There is nothing we can do to please God in the flesh, we have nothing to offer; except for our faith; repent and believe in the Gospel; that is what Jesus asked from us. Get rid of all the understanding of men, or interpretations, or traditions, and trust in the Bible, and the Bible alone, for our salvation, that is what we are asked to do.
Jeremiah 7
But this thing commaunded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I wil be your God, and ye shalbe my people: and walke ye in all the wayes that I haue commanded you, that it may be well vnto you.
But they hearkened not, nor inclined their eare, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their euill heart, and went backward, and not forward.
One of the lessons we are taught over and over again in Scripture; obey God. Seems like this is the hardest thing for us to do, as naturally we are in rebellion against God, ever since Adam disobeyed God.
