So agree on Proverbs. I'm glad my parents - grandmother pushed it on us so hard when we were little. It definitely makes it easier to see what's going on. Most of the bible is just history. Prophecy is for confirmation

Every type of literature known to man at the time it was written is included. Horror, poetry, erotic poetry, wisdom ...

Gospels re also a unique sort, with historical context.
