I saved the link to a tweet--vaporized now, of course--of when the Taliban first entered the office of the former President of Afghanistan. There were around seven or so, and these guys all looked as hard as coffin nails, which would not be surprising when you think that most of them have only known war their entire lives.

The tweet was captioned: "In the office of former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, a Taliban member recites Surah al-Nasr of the Holy Quran."

As one sat at the desk and read in a surprisingly beautiful sing-song voice, a couple of the others wept openly. Although, again, not surprising considering that a life-long agony for an entire nation was coming to an end.
