I only made it a page into Hersh's substack before I realized it was sickening limited hangout. I only made it one more page before I just couldn't continue.
Let me hasten to say that, yes, the US did it. But everyone already knows that. This just adds a bunch of colorful detail. I'm certain Sy was just handed that info in return for an "acceptable" writeup.
Seriously, can any thinking person believe that the US military lacked the capability or the will? Does all that detail actually add anything to our understanding? Okay, they used C4 and not C3 or C5. Who cares?
The point of it was the message, "Putin and Russia are soooo bad, Biden had to be bold enough to take out the enemy's pipes before they could be used against the world. These brave warriors owed Europe that much." You swallow that along with all the cool Navy diver sugar coating. (Hey, did you know they're based in Florida and have a big swimming pool?)
That message is, of course, patently absurd. Hate Putin and don't want to fill his war chest? Don't buy gas from him. Fearful Putin is going to extort Europe by threatening to turn off the taps? The US blew the taps to pieces!
Is anyone going to have to go have a meeting with HR and their supervisor over this? Not a chance, so it's not much of an admission. I cannot believe Hersh doesn't see this. Maybe they just wrote it for him and venmo'd him some bux.
