Virtus means virtue, not so much virility.
'Strength through Knowledge as Virtue' might be a more accurate if not economical transliteration.
a) virtue implies ones choice to evaluate perceivable or suggested as virtuous, hence a reaction.
b) the root of both virility and virtue; VIR- implies "man", hence the masculine action (flow) generating feminine balance (momentum) for "trans"-muted reactions (form) within, hence form representing male and fe(minine)male or man and wo(mb)man, hence coexistence of feminine form (life) within masculine flow (inception towards death).
