I think I'm a little behind on the subject; what is the context here?
Bakhmut has been a contentious point for a while now as it is near a hot part of the front line.
Basically it is coming to an end as the defence collapses there.
The crackpot leadership of ukraine has thrown a ton of the military resources into that pit and it has been little more than a time block.
The number of dead is so high, that we are told that it is Russia that is using a meatwall to attack the superior ukrainian nato defences forcing them to fall back on humanitarian principle feeling sorry for the russian dead.
Oh, Bakhmut is a place in Ukraine - gotcha. I haven't followed the details of what's going on there in the past few months.
