What everyone glosses over the point where it all breaks - sub reddits getting banned.
I have seen few hundred sub reddits banned in my life, and only 5 of them were ''yeah they had it coming''.
If there ever arises a community their ideology doesn't like, its going to get banned.
It doesn't sound bad unless you are under the gun, for example normie like me goes like
i want to express my doubts about covid, vaccines and talk about their side effects
fucking banned from everywhere on entire site, NoNewNormal community right on this site came from reddit banning it.
Nowhere in gadzillion sub reddits and from 430 million people that are there i can have conversation about ''i want to express my doubts about covid, vaccines and talk about their side effects''.
Ok that is one topic, maybe i am in the wrong and i shouldn't discuss it, but its not one topic, its fucking gadzillion of them. Entire fucking spectrum of not being insane lefty banned off the site.
They also employ extreme tools of shadowbanning users which is rabbit hole of its own.
They also have site wide link ban which you guessed it, 90% of material you guys engage with is on it and your comment with such a link will never ever show, entire comment will be removed.
How do they control the entire site ? Well they have powermods that are mods in hundreds if not thousands of sub reddits, admins that can mod everything and hate groups, sorry ''against hate groups'' that will screech until every sub reddit the don't like is banned.
When NoNewNormal was on reddit, by just typing there i got banned by powermod bot from 100+ various sub reddits, that was insane as well. Turns out its all shit topic sub reddits like ' 'cats'' ''art'' ''videos'' and crap like that, didn't effect my life no matter how dystopian that was.
Not to talk about the toxic system of ''first comes, first gets'', did you like ''insert genre or any piece of media, videogame, anime, etc'' and that sub reddit has unhinged lefty jannies that nuke everyone who isn't a faggot ? Bad for you because now you don't get to ever engage with topic.
And now how deep into hole reddit ideology is ? Well all scientific and political sub reddits are far left, even those who doesn't act like it.
The best one is trannies, on reddit you are not allowed to have only biological women spaces, you have to have tranny male as a mod there. So i have personally watched over 10+ only woman sub reddits get banned off reddit. Yeah you heard that right, reddit doesn't have and allow any only women spaces.
Not to talk i watched a theory somewhere where reddit upvotes and what is on frontpage was influenced for political gains, which is obvious nowadays.
