It's actually a great read. Doyle, as a Mason himself, really doesn't touch on the Masonic side of it, but perhaps a re-reading might present some clues.

I bought an really old copy of his book The White Company online like 20 years ago for 10 bucks, and sold it for $80 like ten years later. I couldn't get into it, and it's because the book is basically a Masonic allegory. Yet again, a second try might be warranted at some point.
