Did you ever heard about a trial, where some oligarch or elite member was convicted and, the main thing - everything he stole from people, all his property (even if it is formally written to another people), was returned back to people?
I never heard about any trial that resulted in return of what was stolen to real owners. In the best case, oligarch will be in comfortable VIP prison for some time and some of his assets will be confiscated and will become property of the state, not the people. Then, he will be freed early, and will happily return to his wealth that was formally written to his relatives or friends or was offshored to avoid confiscation.
What is the point of such trials, if those who was robbed will never get anything back? Let's fate/karma/whatever do the job. At least, unlike after trial, that bastards will not be able to continue ther crimes and enjoy their stolen wealth.
Justuce and what some people really deserve in most cases are completely different things. So, who needs justice, if there could be another, more rightful options? Say, what you prefer - toothless cartoon trial for Fauci with all that redacted documents, undisclosed witnesses, proofs with 75 years of disclosure delay and tiny punishment for "honored official" if any, or if somehow Fauci will suddenly bring his laptop with all his secrets and names of his real masters to some computer service that will openly publish all laptop contents uncovering all truth and after that Fauci will suddenly painfully die in car accident? First is "justice". Second is "справедливость". What will you choose?

None of stolen property was ever returned to owners - USSR citizens. His main company Ukos was bankrupted and sold to selected oligarchs. Billions he hoarded abroad was left intact and after his emigration he easily returned for his billionare life.
Ukos was a largest Russian oil company, so if all that justice circus was for real, each Russian citizen would have get a share of nearly a half of Russian oil industry with apropriate dividents.
Moreover, after his emigration also circus court in EU order to compensate all confiscated property of Khodorkovsky by seizing and selling Russian state foreing assets. So, Russians not only got absolutely nothing back from that Jewish thief, but also had to pay him more from their tax money.
Today Khodokovsky is wealthy (billionare) and alive somewhere on West. Russians got nothing and even paid him indirectly.
